Jumping on the Bandwagon (Taetiseo – Twinkle)

30 04 2012

All the other large girl groups that are SNSD’s competition (After School, Rainbow) are making subgroups to saturate the market.  This way, instead of trying to coordinate 9 different schedules to one comeback, the companies can just pick three of them and save themselves tons of effort.  And since everyone else is doing it, so is SNSD!

Unlike Orange Caramel and it’s doppelganger Rainbow Pixie, however, SNSD broke away from the cutesy/magic sound (kind of) and decided to put their vocal powerhouses together for a unique concept.  Taeyeon, Tiffany, and Seohyun are the members of SNSD’s very first subunit.  They just released their first music video, “Twinkle!”  If you haven’t seen it yet, check it out under the cut! A couple days ago, my lover Kevin Kpop boy group U-Kiss released the music video for the title track of their new minialbum, “DORADORA.”  Upon watching it a few times though, I have decided that I need to add another reason to my list of reasons why to love U-Kiss: they have yet to disappoint me.

Absolute Kpop Perfection

18 04 2012

You may or may not have heard of Kpop girl group Girl’s Day.  They’re the ones that did that really catchy song “Twinkle, Twinkle” with the adorable “hajima, hajima, ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma” dance.  Yeah, those ones.  I haven’t really paid all that much attention to them besides that one song, but I stumbled upon their newest music video for their upcoming album, “Oh! My God.”

Ladies and gentlemen, it is absolute perfection.  This is one of the best music videos I have ever seen.

See? It Works

15 04 2012

If you guys haven’t been watching the Oricon Charts, today Morning Musume’s 49th single, Renai Hunter, outsold top artists Perfume and Sexyzone.  Although Morning Musume has been in third until today, the top three has been these artists and it’s quite a feat that Morning Musume was able to outsell them.  The single has already sold 33,000 copies in just three days (more than Pyoko has sold at all) with two more left until the chart week ends.  While Morning Musume may not be able to come out on top with the rough competition, top 3 is still very impressive.

All this is to say: See?  Good music SELLS.  This PROVES it.  No ducks, no crappy over-used melodies.  Something unique and modern and catchy with good outfits and flattering styles.

Dear Tsunku, please keep it up this time. PLEASE.
