I’m YOOOUUUUURRRRRS – BEAST’s “Midnight Sun”

24 07 2012

A couple days ago, BEAST, one of my favorite Kpop boy bands, finally released their new music video, “Midnight Sun.”  Because of an unsuccessful attempt at Japan and a world tour, we haven’t seen these boys doing something interesting since “Fiction” over a year ago.  Being out of the Kpop scene for so long has clearly taken its tole on these boys.   Read the rest of this entry »

30 Day Idol Challenge 5 ~Favorite Group~

6 02 2012

Back on track, day five of Shanimuni Paradise’s Idol Month (aka the 30 Day Idol Challenge) is your favorite idol group.  I’ve been trying to keep this Jpop-friendly, but I think I have to break the mold today.  I love me some Jpop idol groups; my favorites right now are ___48 and 9nine, but even those don’t compare to how much I love my Kpop idol groups.  I’m sorry if that offends some of you.  I’ve just been much more into non-idol Jpop lately because Korea has more interesting idol groups at the moment.  What Korea lacks is good non-idol singers and bands, which has been filled by Jpop (Jrock, Koda Kumi, Goto Maki, Namie Amuro, Ayumi Hamasaki, etc.).

So, as far as idol groups go, I have to choose from Kpop.  Granted, my favorites are constantly changing (as are my opinions on everything) based on current promotions, usually.  My favorite idol group promoting right now is, without a doubt, Sunny Hill.  I’ve talked about that before, though.

So, closely followed by So Nyu Shi Dae and 2NE1, my favorite idol group is…. Read the rest of this entry »

TOP! Part 9 – J- and K-Idols

26 01 2012

This was requested early last year by qwert.  Sorry it took me this long to get to it.  The ninth installment of my TOP! series (see the page above to learn more about the series) is my top 20 j- and k-idols.  Again, that’s the smallest number I could muster.  I’ll spare you of the honorable mentions, though.  In order to keep the list doable, I kept it to members of idol groups (past and present).  It was also a very hard list, so some of the ones I would have put in here had to be cut.  Also, I only put one member per group to keep the list from being all Super Junior, SHINee, SNSD, or BIG BANG.

TOP! Part 8 – Men I Would Love to Marry

10 08 2010

–Or alternatively titled “The Sexiest Men in Asia”.

WARNING: MAJOR FANGIRLING AHEAD.  BEWARE.  READ AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Here’s the eighth part of my TOP! series!  It’s been a while!  Sashiburi~ If I had done this a year ago, every single person on this list would have been a JE idol (or a Japanese actor) with the exception of maybe HanKyung from Super Junior (who now repulses me, but that’s another rant for another post).  My life has been taken over by Kpop, as you will see.  But I’ve also just grown really tired and disappointed in the Japanese idol industry (still loving those solo singers… Ayu I love you!)  So!  Here’s the top five six okay, seven men I would love to marry, including several honorable mentions!, a first for my TOP! series !

For Real This Time

2 06 2010

I keep going on unannounced hiatuses.  I’m sorry!  This time I’m back for real.  Senior year was kind of kicking my ass and I didn’t have a life for the past couple months.  But now that’s all over and I can return to the blogging world~

I know I’ve missed a lot… so I’m not gonna try to catch up too much.  But here are a couple opinions from the last couple of months: Read the rest of this entry »

Best Live. Evar.

20 11 2008

I love Korean Award Show performances.  Everyone performs with everyone else and it consitently kicks ass.  This particular one had me screaming and I have to admit it must be the best live I’ve ever seen from Korea. It’s Lee Hyori feat. BIG BANG.  I was getting excited just seeing that.

Some PV Reviews (or Do Me Haru Crazy Love?)

14 08 2008

So I’ve been catching up on some fairly new PVs lately. And surpsingly (for me), I really liked all of them. Well, I knew I would love Namie Amuro’s Do Me More PV (I’ve been listening to it on my iPod a lot lately), but I was really (painfully) shocked to find that I loved Big Bang’s Haru Haru PV (but not Oh My Friend… lulz that’s a funny one), and slightly less so when I watched THE Possible’s latest PV, Ijiwaru Crazy Love.
