BREAKING NEWS – Tsugunaga Momoko….

2 08 2012

Although most people thought that Berryz Koubou’s eternal child, Tsugunaga Momoko, had had those fugly pigtails surgically attached to her head about a year ago, it turns out to be false!  Recent images from her other active idol group, Buono!, show her with a… wait for it… different hair style!  Although this may seem incredulous, please look at the images below for proof yourself.

Although sources report that this may not last long, some fans remain hopeful that poor Momoko has been cured of the horrid pigtails for good.

30 Day Idol Challenge 27 ~Appreciation~

27 02 2012

I can’t believe I’m still doing this, I usually give up on 30 Day ____ Challenges within the first week!  The 27th day of the 30 Day Idol Challenge is an idol you have a particular appreciation for.

Today’s idol was one of my favorites for many years.  She’s beautiful and amazingly talented.  The only reason she fell from my best graces is actually no fault of her own, unfortunately.  I just got sick of her face being the only one I saw in everything she participating in.  I know she’s popular and probably more talented than the others, but I hate the “____ (and some other idols too)” groups.

Anyway, I recently realized how very overworked she is for a girl her age and that it’s amazing how she still smiles and has so much fun being an idol.  Who is it?  It’s…

30 Day Idol Challenge 1 ~Favorite~

3 02 2012

Happy Disco has morphed the fad of “30 day ____ challenge” into an idol version!  I’ve been liking these in several forms, so I figured I’d jump on the bandwagon.  I’ve apparently been really into idols lately; I’m even learning some of the AKB48 and new Morning Musume girls’ names!!  (Don’t expect me to know anyone from the ___48 groups, though.)  So prepare for a month of a lot of posts, because February is Idol Month here at Shanimuni Paradise.  Each day for the next (ideally) 30 days, I’ll be posting on the topic of the day from Happy Disco’s list.

Day 1 is about your favorite idol.  A couple days ago, I posted a TOP! on my favorite idols, so you already know who my number one is (spoiler: it’s Taemin from SHINee).  So instead, I’ll make this post about my favorite Hello! Project idol.  It’s….

TOP! Part 8 – Hello! Project Singles

20 01 2012

Okay, this was hard.  Really, really hard.  I don’t think I realized what I was getting into when I decided to do this next installation of my TOP! series.  For those of you who are new to my blog, TOP! is my series of countdowns of favorites.  There’s a page in the menu bar with previous TOP! posts.

Today I bring you my personal top 25 Hello! Project singles.  No, really, that was the smallest number I could muster.  There’s just as many honorable mentions.

Hello! Project Round-Up: PyocoPyoco, Chotomatte, DEEP MIND, and Shining Butterfly

15 01 2012

A few H!P PVs have been released lately (okay, a couple of these are old, but I’ve been wanting to review them), and to save you clicks and me time, I’m rounding them all up into one post.  Remember, I already warned you that my patience with H!P is gone.

Morning Musume – Pyocopyoco Ultra

When I heard the radio rip for this song, I actually really liked it.  It’s really catchy on it’s own and it showcases the new members, which although isn’t great yet, it’s smart on Tsunku’s part.  If all of the lines are given to Reina or Mame, then it’ll be a PAIN once they graduate (such as, I can imagine, it is now divvying up all of Ai’s parts).

Then the covers and group concept pictures were released.

Then the MV.

Can I emphasize how much I have been disappointed with Morning Musume lately?  Leave it to Tsunku to take a perfectly good song and fuck duck it up.  To save an incredibly long rant, here’s the one good thing about this PV: Gakisan.  She really, really shines among the rest.  And I really love that her costume is different, it really shows that she’s the queen duck.  Otherwise, yeah.  There’s nothing good about this PV.  It makes me sick to my stomach.  I’ve tried about 5 times and I still cannot watch it all the way through.

Tsunku, little girls are already fans of Morning Musume.  They will listen anyway.  Especially since you’re adding kindergartners to the group.  You need to be targetting the market that is leaning to AKB: young adults and the older male fans.  You used to do it, and it worked really, really well.  Don’t know why that’s changed, but he is really throwing a great group down the tubes.  Just because the new members are young doesn’t mean they have to be dancing in duck outfits.  Seriously.

My love. It has been rekindled.

9 08 2009

I just got back from the Hello!Chanpuru concert at Nakano Sun Plaza with Celestia.  It was… way beyond amazing.  When the girls first came out, I almost cried because it was… (definitely hard to describe)… something I’ve only dreamed of seeing, never thought I would, and… I dunno… it was like, “Wow.  These girls are actually real.  Not just some people on my computer screen.  They exist!”

Anyway.  Maimai was absent from the concert tonight, which is a real shame because after Erika she’s my favorite girl in C-ute and I was really, really looking forward to her in Pucchimoni V.  But that’s okay.  Didn’t ruin my day.
