New Avex Girl Group!! WIN

This is the first time Avex has tried an all-girl group since SweetS, which (in my opinion) is the best girl group to ever grace Japan.  Argue all you want, but that’s my opinion.

This one looks just as promising.  They’re just as young as everyone else in the Jpop girl group world, but they have attitude.  They know how to strut it and make it work. Avex tends to set the bar a lot higher than most everyone else in everything: dancing, singing ability, even looks.  So I highly doubt I’ll be disappointed by these girls.

I can’t wait to see a release from them!  Every watch out for Tokyo Joshiryu!

Sisterly Love

I’ve been so excited to hear the duet between sisters Koda Kumi and misono.  I was wondering if they’d ever collaborate, since it’s just so rare to have two debuted singers in the same family, let alone sisters.  And they finally did!  Misono’s been gaining more attention with Quiz Hexagon (which seems to be a hit maker), so I’m assuming that’s what brought it about.  She was never really “popular” before, so I’m glad that she not only is getting more attention, but made a single with her big sister!

And man, the wait was worth it.

If You Can’t Beat Em…

If you can’t beat em, join em; right?  If you remember a couple months ago fans (including myself) were all up in a bundle because Johnny’s had pretty much engaged war with Tohoshinki by getting them banned on Music Fighter or something.

Obviously Tohoshinki hasn’t been hurt in the slightest at all.  They’ve released two very well-selling singles since then and an album in Korea, which is like the best-selling Korean album of all time or something.

So what does Johnny do?  “Hey, why not make Tohoshinki our best buddies?”

According to KBS, Tohoshinki was recently on SMAP x SMAP and will be on some show with KinKi Kids soon.  The article calls this a “honeymoon affair” bewtween Tohoshinki and JE.

And hey, I’m all for it.  Hot Korean guys working with hot Japanese guys?  What’s not to love?

So I was surfing the avex youtube channel, and… uh…

…er?  Which that’s some nice choreography and all… I just…

I don’t even know what to say I’m so baffled.
